I always found Avon Distanzia H's to be very good. Look like off road tyres but are very grippy and good in the wet. Need to be H's though. Regular Distanzia's aren't as good.

Is it an XT660X? I used Bt023's commuting on mine and got great mileage out of them. They aren't great on the KTM but I doubt anything will last long on a 990..
