for a bike costing as much monies as the S1000r you'd think they'd sexiy it up a bit

Its some weight still though. I think the BMW designers just ripped off the 07 R6 with the s1000.

Great bike. Brilliant top end power. Great on track. Steers really well. Comfy for what it is. I've been to Europe on mine and never missed a beat. Breaks are as good as anything out there. As for the traction and abs, it's good on the road but crap on track but can be switched off. Negatives are the bike eats tyres, break pads, clutches, sprockets, chains and cush drives. Service items are expensive such as air filter for €50 and oil at €80 for 4 litres but i suppose thats to be expected on a bike putting out 190 horses. I had a sensor give a bit of trouble that was difficult to diagnose but that's been the only reliability problem and mine has 23k kms on it. All in all i'd recommend. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the info very much appreciated. I went for a spin on one and absolutly loved it. The bike just felt right for me definately the most comfortable sports bike i have ridden. The brakes felt really good and i love the way the power was delivered. I am deinfately sold on one. Now the question is do i get a second hand 10/11 or wait a liitle bit save up a few more quid and get a second hand 12 with the improvements? At the moment i am thinking wait and get 12. The one i rode was the red and white one which i have to say was stunning :)

Save for the new one, better mid range, better turn in and sharper throttle response.

Amazing machine. Have a 2010 S1000RR in black! Drives like a 600, open her up a little and power is outstanding! Not even about the power, the technology is something else, nearly drives itself & its very forgiving! No faults! In a league of its own! 0876110434 if you have any questions!
