Had a 625 - you'll need to be handy with the spanners cause if you have to pay someone it'll break you. I think it was oil every 1500 miles filter every second change, valve clearances every 3000. Oil was €50 for 4lts I think but that covered two services.

If you're buying and the previous owner serviced it himself make sure he knew how to change the oil properly - you need to bleed the system through the frame - not a big deal once you do it once but disaster for the big eng if not done properly.

Had mine for 2 yrs loved it, gave no trouble and worth all the effort

Hey Andy sorry to hear that, when I sold it to you last year I had fecked a load of money into it servicing and cosmetically.
She looked the bomb and went like a demon on the back roads.
The valve clearances were done by myself and Myles twice as was the oil and two filters.
It's a bit of a pain to bleed te system but not too bad.

Did you keep up the oil changes and valve clearances?
I know the black engines are supposed to give trouble but the silver ones are better quality.

Gutted for ya...

To the original poster that bike you are looking at has a black engine do avoid it.
It also has replaced plastics on it And is missing all decals or stickers that should be on the airbox?
Have a look but being handy with spaners is necessary to own a machine like this, think two stroke maintenance.

Have a look for a later model silver engine or later again with revised swing arm.

Ye rang about it after and engine is fucked so will give it a miss and hold out for something a bit better.
Im handy enough with the spanners so that side of things is no problem but cheers for the advice

Don't worry about it at all Johnny! Happens man.

I always let it warm up before acting the clown. Everything else was looked after too. My mechanic says he's never seen the like of it before so have to put it down to a 1 off.

Bastard thing...
