Sooooo! 8 Days to RRF. Today we had a photocall @ St Stephens Green. We had some Goonz, Some VCI scoots, Strawberry Hall motorbikes and a few ladies/gents to pose with them.We also had Clash Jam Wallop giving posters to passers by. Lots of pics taken, some on here more to follow next week. And we sent this press release out. Tick tock, tick tock....

Vintage Cars and Vintage Clothes At The Launch Of The
Rockin’ Road Music Festival

Dublin’s Northside to Rock and Roll

(Friday 18th May)

Details of the 2012 Rockin’ Road Music Festival were announced today in Dublin. Taking place in the grounds of ChildVision on Grace Park Road, Dublin, the one day music festival will run from Noon to 8pm on Sunday May 27th. Featuring Irish Rock n Roll bands, vintage vehicles and entertainment for the kids, this family-friendly day out will help to raise funds for ChildVision, Ireland’s National Education Centre for Blind Children.

“Bouncy castles, brilliant bands and bikes and cars – there will be something there for everyone,” explained David Bagnall, Organiser of the Rockin’ Road Festival. “And with tickets for the whole day costing only €5 per adult with children free, what better way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon.”

The list of bands is a who’s who of the best of irish Rock n Roll - The Sabre Jets, Clash Jam Wallop, Liz is Evil, The Laneways, Resoul, Will Nolan & The Wayward Sinner Boys, Un4seen and DJs Beep Beep and Mark Sherlock. The Strawberry Hall Motorcycle Reunion, the Vespa Club of Ireland and the Goonz Car Club will have their vintage and classic vehicles on display throughout the day.

“We’re delighted to be able to host the festival here at our Drumcondra headquarters,” said Ruth Hickey, Head of Fundraising, ChildVision. “And we can’t thank Dave and the rest of the gang for choosing to support us. And we can’t forget Eddie Rockets who will be covering the running costs of the day, so that every penny possible goes to the children.”

ounger festival goers will be entertained by a huge bouncy castle, face painting, a petting zoo and sensory garden. Throughout the day, food will be available for old and young including Eddie Rockets, of course, an Ice Cream and Candy Floss van, posh coffee from Java the Hut and a sweet shop. And there’ll be a dozen stalls full of everything from clothes, to parts for your scooters.

“For those who want to stay up late, or who have a baby-sitter booked, we will have an evening gig at the Thomas House, Thomas Street from 8pm with T-Bone Kelly,” added David Bagnall.

ChildVision is Ireland’s only education centre for blind and partially sighted children and works with over 800 families throughout the country, providing support for blind children and young people from new-born to 23, many of whom have multiple disabilities. Based in Drumcondra, Dublin they provide a national service including an integrated pre-school, primary school, integrated post primary school, vocational education, equine therapy, family resources, Braille production and many more to ensure that every blind child in Ireland gets an education.
