Thats a name which will be mentioned quite a bit from Cookstown onwards.
He is a fast rider.
In the support class, he was miles ahead of any competition.
Its all down to money now, he is up against stiffer competition.

But in all fairness, cant wait to see him this year. Dont think I will ever forget watching him blast over the line in Walderstown on the back wheel! Almost cost him the race too

ive just finished all the design for walderstown, there will be a certain irony in the fact that the wheelie nearly cost him the race when you see the new walderstown stuff

Glad too see Derek is being realistic in aiming for top tens in the nationals. A lot of lads are expecting way too much out of him, it might take him a while to get going to his full potential.
Hope everyone realises this and keeps supporting him all the way

a lot of lads from up my way (midlands) were raving there, but as i said, you have to remember, all the top lads showed promise and have spend 5 odd years on the national circuits progressing all the time, yourself included, a top ten finish aim is about right in my opinion, anything else would be really proving himself

and i dont think that statement is taking form Dereks talent and obvious promise in any way, lads just need to be mindful of the task in hand

If the lad tries his best, and a little bit of luck along the way, sure isn't that all you could ask of him

Best of luck Derek..

Oh I'm not taking from him, far from it!
He has the ability, I just seen lads before struggle to keep the support momentum going when they go from winning by a mile to mid field.
I just hope the lads backing him realise that it's not a two minute job and keep their shoulders to the wheel for a few years

Fair points lads and I'd like to think that he'll still have as much support either way!
