Default Electric Guitar Effects Pedal

Just bought this strat copy after years of pounding banjos and acoustic guitars and I’ve no experience with electric instruments. It came with a 15 watt amp which looks fairly basic

I want to get into Ry Cooder stuff :

so I’m looking for some sort of effects pedal

I’m not even sure what I want so feel free to jump in with any advice

Do you need a separate pedal for Echo, Reverb, Delay or can you get a combo box that does it all?
And No – I can’t afford a proper amp

Plenty of multi effects that would have the sounds you're looking for. Behringer or Zoom would be two of the cheaper brands that would do to get you started but i'd recommend getting a decent amp too, those ones that come with the guitar kits ain't great tbh. You could pick up a Roland Cube amp or a Line 6 Spider fairly reasonably second hand and these have the effects you mentioned built in.

you can get a vox ad15 vt for less than a ton and trust me its a great little tube amp with lots of effects and big punch for 15 watts best amp for someone on a budget and if you get one try and get a foot switch for it

Yeah, vox do some great little amps. The mini3 or mini5 both have digital amp modelling and a bunch of effects built in We sell mini3's for 90 bills.

The thing about built in effects is that you can usually only use one at a time! Multi effects are more customisable (but I think you can still only use 1 at a time).

The switch you need is a vfs2. Don't have one here at the moment, but we can get one for you if you like.
