No difference between 03-07 models man ( the 02's and older are only slightly different afaik) Having driven both the new shape was a major let down in comparison the fuel injection does nothing for it imo.. keep the eye out for a very well kept model and it should last ya years, they pop up every now and again at a steal of a price but usually gone in days

Thanks guys, yeah waiting to see what price that one in Tallaght is going to be offered at.

Interestingly also the below link is for a 05 one. The guy still has it. However it has a dropped valve. So the engine could just be scrap, may have to be replaced like. It's hard to know without opening it up. Would you consider this worth the risk if I could knock down the price? I know a lad who works on bikes and could help me fix it like:

Did you think about a Honda CBF 250. I started out on one. It's a bigger sized bike than the likes of the gn125, more on par with the Varadero. Cheap to insure and run too.
Also you can do your test for A licence on it unlike a 125 (making a sweeping assupmtion you are on a permit, you might not be)

Hi halfbook, what a coincidence. I was on to a garage today and am going to look at this bike tomorrow morning:

It's a bit up from my price range, but hell I am having a b***h of a time finding a Varadero. What do ye think of the price btw?

Correct, I am on a learner permit.

Hmmm.... A bit pricey. I sold mine a year ago for 1800. It was maybe worth a little more than that but wanted to shift it quick as I had a good deal on the bandit. It was a 05 but can't remember the mileage on it for some reason. Was in around 10 or 11 k miles.

If that one is clean and you're happy with the price it shouldn't let you down.

Cheers. I'll offer €2700 at the start and see how he reacts. I think he has had it for sale for 2 months, as can see it on Gumtree back in January. This is pending its a clean and genuine bike!

Will bring my mechanic with me to check it out too. Let ye know how I get on.

Hopefully it's clean. Looks good in the picks. They generally have mow mileage as most people use them to learn so mileage should be genuine.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the help over the past week. Just to let you all know I bought the 07 CBF 250. My mate put it through it paces and its a genuine bike with just 7k on the clock. Had been sitting up for the past 3 years. So basically a new bike!

I will see you all at the next biker.ie rideout!

Thanks
