Default Gixer no power???

before I start to take the fairings off to see what the hell is the problem said I run it by ye guys.
K1 750, dash died on the way home yesterday, thought that was funny, switched off my lights and dash came back, turned back on lights and all ok again. Few mile down the road, nearly home and dash dies again, the the bike loses power and cuts out. Won't start, no power to turn the engine, just click click, thinks to meself battery but its only few months old and why'd it cut out when driving? Anyway got it home in the van, left overnight and started fine this morning.
So I'm thinking altenator now or is there something simple I'm missing, loose fuse, something draining battery etc.
Any ideas????

Check the battery and earth connections first and the battery voltage. If it's low, charge it, start the bike and see is the battery charging (should be about 13.8V+) - If it's not charging, it's probably the reg/rec blown, but possibly the stator windings.

check the connection at the back of your clocks, often times those little clips can break and cause the connection to be loose or faulty, would explain the lights cutting out aswell as the bike cutting out, and why its working/ not working unconsistently

+1 to that. The batt connections if they are loose casn play havoc on these newer bikes. You need to establish as the lads say if all is tight and its charging the batt. Then if all thats ok head in the direction of the Reg/Rectifier and see wehat the score is there...
