Default Picked up a new lid for the new woman

Went to Iron Pony with Susan to get her a helmet. When she saw the price she was taken somewhat aback. Anyway we fitted her with a helmet and ended up with an XS. She was still not convinced ( the price) so I said, ok lets try a HJC , which is a good helmet. She could not believe the difference in comfort between the Shoei and the HJC. That was the point I was trying to make. "You have to want to wear it, and if you are going 300 miles comfort is king", What amazed me though was the comment the sales guy made. " We don't normally stock XS in Shoei or Arai, because a lot of guys just go any old helmet will do for the woman"

I had to order the helmet and have it shipped to her. Susan had never worn a full face, so I had to be sure she felt good wearing this one. After doing the side by side between the Shoei and the HJC, she understood what I was on about.
Those RF1100's are suweet, makes me want to trade in my old RF1000. Damn I'm tempted, not this color scheme of course.

Aren't most non bikers a bit oblivious to the price of gear, I know I've seen jaws drop when I mention the price of my gear for the daily commute.

I really don't get that "I'll wear all the gear, she can just wear a pair of jeans & a badly fitting lid that the last few wore too... what can go wrong" attitude either

Teacher asked me one morning what my gear was worth and i told em about 500 quid.(only bring the lid jacket gloves) obviously the talk of the nosey cunts in the staff room for the day cause 2 other teachers had said it to later that day.

more of a shock to them I'd say. one of the girls I work with asked what the full kit cost, when I told her just over 1500 she asked was that including the bike. When I said no she nearly fell over, and said that she spent less than that for her cage
