Hey lads,
I could quite possibly be a bit insane... I've only just passed my theory test and haven't even got my provisional... BUT! I have come across what seems like a very clean CB400 Super Four! A bike I have sat on and adored with envy! I'm going mad to get on two wheels and I'm gettting very impulsive as the spring is here! I'll be having a look at one next saturday with the intention of buying To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. obviously providing it's in decent nick! (BTW, some great info on them here from you guys) Would anyone be able to tell me what sort of money a decent 95 model would be making these days?! As I'm a bike virgen I'm not great at valuing them just yet To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. |

Mint-1700, clean 1500, tatty 1200, hound=700 Mileage? Link to the ad? Lovely bikes, retuned cbr400 engine with engine trim and a cradle frame- shocks can go on them easy enough, a well tuned one thats been looked after will be a great bike!

Thanks a lot for that Mr Rccaulfield!
Jesus, I never realised the old ones could fetch that much?? There's me wanting to absolutely embarrass myself with my low ball first offer! Here's a link to the one I've looking at... What do you think? To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. |

That one hmmm yea its been resprayed so gotta find out why, headers to end can looks weird need to look at that, end can damaged, k&n filters in so is it jetted for them and running right? Headlight bracket aftermarket? Why, Only 8k miles in 17 years is ridiculous and unless the paint and sprockets were original then it can't be believed. I wouldn't but it may be a rare one that actually looks better then in the pics in real life. Also not one pic of the left side of the bike

Thanks Lads,
I wouldn't be mad on a Bros, I know they're a great bike and everything, but I really would prefer a Super Four. That's some eagle eye you have there Rccaulfield!! I honestly wouldn't have known about it being resprayed. To me it looked absolutely lovely, and maybe I was blinded by this. I noticed that air filter alright, could that be much of an issue? I thought the exhaust was a nice sounding bonus! So I really need my blinkers turned on with this one?! |

The headers just before the end can join have been cut and rewelded or something and i don't even see a hanger for the end can there which will have the can bouncin around(might be the reason for the bend but not likely) either way looks nasty. My advice is hold out for a nice original example at around the same money!

I would ask the owner to clarify whether the bike is restricted or whether he is assuming it it learner legal To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. Offer him around 1150 or 1200 and you'll be motoring To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. |

The second one you posted looks to be a good clean example of a Super4. All the bits look origional, but it is a 20 year old bike, so check all the bits. In particular:
* Check the forks for tarnish on the chrome. It's a common issue on these bikes. Check the seals too. Wipe the forks clean with a tissue, and then sit on the bike and push down on the bars a few times. If there is a very visible line of muck left, then the seals are on the way out. * Make sure the clocks are all working fine, and the temp sensor is working too. * The bike is NOT learner legal unless it has been restricted. Make sure you get a cert with it. Bike is worth €1,000 in my opinion. It's old, but if it was treated well, then it should be good for another while yet. |

My advice re bike is definately bring someone with alot of bike experience to look over any bike before parting with cash. Buyers market so take your time and get a good one👍 |
