shims needed are 135, 172(170), 140, 150, 150, 175 & 160.
edit! 3 shims had been shaved by what looks to be a grinder, mother of god To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. ! I haven't come across these type shims before, there a bucket shim within the bucket! 7mm in diameter and 2.2mm deep they fit into the top of the valves. got the clearances done with chopper last week
its hard to believe its the same bike an easy 10-15 bhp and loads more torque the big thing is how much smoother the power delivery is so to any lad looking for performance gains make sure your clearance are to spec big fair play to chopper and easy paid |

Tell me this: I understand a few bikes have used hydraulic cam-followers (e.g. some of the old Magna V4s), thus maintaining (in theory, at least!) a zero-clearance at all times via engine oil trickery. Is the reason these aren't more popular on bikes to do with the high engine speeds? Speak, ye Gods!!

Hi guys, or probably Chopper, more specifically. Planning on checking/adjusting the valve clearances on my 01 XJR1300 over the weekend and just remembered the book calls for a special tool to hold the followers down. Is there anything else you can use or do I need to get one? Thanks, Mick.
