Default Is it restricted???

bought a 2005 Dl650 V-Strom yesterday and took it for it's 1st spin today and felt great. I'm not very experienced yet about the power of bikes and not sure if it is restricted or not, Is there any way of telling if it is??? It seems fairly quick in take off with gear changes happening quickly up to 4/5th in matter of seconds without going to crazy and I hit 120kph (74mph) no prob, could have gone faster.

Most bikes are restricted to 90mph. If it gos faster than that or revs over 8000rpm's it aint restrictded.

Rallyman was right. most bikes are restricted to about 90mph so if ya can go faster than that your prolly not restricted.

take off the seats and read the ECU serial number.

The SV restricted ECU ends in xxxxxx61, the full power ones are xxxxxx60.

The DL and SV are pretty much the same so I would suspect something similar if it were restricted.

The restricted V-Strom will make a ton, or slightly over, but it takes it's time getting there after 75ish (or so I'm told

). Unrestricted should go to about 125.

Edit: The great thing about a V Twin is that it suffers less in the restriction.
