Hi guys,
Sorry if ultra basic question..... but here goes. Total newbie and have just bought a 250 Dragstar and curious about what preventitive/regular maintenance I should be considering. I'm guessing Chain oil but anything else and what frequency is recommended... Cheers, Czr |

keep the chrome clean --especially the exhaust.
keepyour oil level up,oil change and plugs -depends on how you use the bike keep tabs on ur back brake.. watch the brake fluid up front.. it shudn't go down but every 2 weeks do a good hour's checking on everything..... watch your chain tension as well..... air filter... change it if its manky , if not it shud be ok,. |

Hey welcome along!
Invest 20-30 in a haynes manual for yourr bike. In there it has all the basic serviceing that you can do yourself at home. This is your bible so read it before bed and learn about your bike. Enjoy it To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. |

tyres and fluids other than that like gatch said buy yourself a haynes. Learned everything I know from haynes manuals. When I got my first bike I knew nothing now I'm changing pistons and doing valve clearances. I'm no genius. Haynes is easy to follow and step by step. Personally I hate giving my bike to a bikeshop when i can do it myself.
Also gives me a chance to get away from nappies and into the shed. " I'm saving money dear" To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. |
