silicone grease is for places where solvents might wash away other greases,
it is also non reactive with most seals,
because dot 5 upwards are silicone based rather than mineral based use silicone grease on the pistons
Jim as usual mosta that flew right over my head- I'll get the thesauraus out and study that post for a few weeks and get back to ya!

Ah no-i use copper grease on the backa the pads alright-sick of all the corrosion on the pistons and seals rotting aswell as sliding pins dry as a bone so needs must! How'd u find workin on the linked brakes on ur yoke-see a lad bought it to fix up-twas too clean to break anyway!

basically use ordinary grease on the sliders and rubber grease on the pistons
the linked brakes are a pain in the arse to bleed after a strip down,
so many lines to bleed, i eventually used a model aircraft fuel filler pump(hand cranked) and filled the system from the calipers up, took 10 minutes as opposed to all fuckin day doing it the other way(an it was still spongy as fuck)
