Default sprocket problem

just wondering ,changed chain and sprockets on my zxr 4 1990 (h model)last night and just wanted to know when i changed the front sprocket and tightened up the bolts the sprocket seemed to be able to move(shaky) without the chain on. but when i looked at the manual there is no circlip or anything needed at the front just a lock in washer .dont know if this is normal or not, everything seems perfect as i drove it into work today chain is perfect as but not sure if this is normal or not.cheers for any help.

Well there is a washer with a groove and two 10mm bolts holding the front sprocket in place, be sure that the washer sits nicely into the groove then tighten them up on the splined shaft.

Is the shaft moving too or just the sprocket wobbling a little?

the shaft is not moving at all and that washer is sitting fine and its tight with the bolts .the sprocket is wobbling a bit without the chain

sounds ok to me , if the sproket was any thicker would it stop it shaken, you could always put an extra washer or 2 to fix it but id say its grand anyway,
I had a bandit 250 before and it was the same

A little bit of movement is nothing to worry about. Quite common.
