Go with this ^^ don't leave it ticking over on the side stand, either sit on it or put something under the stand to get it near to vertical so the oil goes where it's supposed to.

i always tend to let the z750 warm up b4 i ride it but the maunual for the f650 says not to so i just keep the revs low for first few mins

According to the Castrol ads 90% of engine wear occurs when the engine is cold. I know its an ad but it makes sense. Use the time it takes to put on your gear and think about what you are going to be doing. That way you will live longer and so will your bike

Let the bike warm up while putting on your gear...then ride it handy for the first few mins....not like your going to be trying for fastest lap times or anyting I hope

Cold oil doesn't flow as quickley as warm oil. Won't be able to get around as quick when it's cold to lubricate properly. That's why I leave mine warm up for a few mins and don't rev the bag out of her till she's up to running temp . That's my theory anyway
