Post Advise and help for A1 Driving Test

Hi all,
I have booked my A1 Driving Test today at the Tallaght test center. I have a YahamViagra 125. I would greatly appraciate any advise and help regarding the test. My rear tyre depth is just 1mm would it be advisable to get the tyre changed before the test.
I have been riding this bike for 6 months in Dublin and had been riding motorcycle's for over 10 years in India, but still feeling nervous for the test.

I have been riding the bike here very well with no problems, however would it be advisable to take some pre-test lesson please suggest some trainer if necessary.

Thanks in advance.

Murtaza.

Yes, change the tyre. Don't leave anything on the raggedy edge in a test situation, including yourself. Turn up in plenty of time, with the bike clean and yourself clad in proper attire - jacket/L-plate tabard/boots/decent helmet.

Be courteous yet relaxed with the examiner - introduce yourself and offer a handshake on meeting him/her. First impressions count for a lot in these matters - I wish it weren't so, but it is. I've learned that much!

Do take at least a pre-test course from a competent, reputable instructor. They are worth their weight in gold. I don't know of anyone in the Dublin area, but I passed an "A" test here in Cork recently after a Full Metal Jacket-style refresher and I highly recommend it. It will increase your chances of passing *dramatically* and make you a better rider.

Above all, be safe and enjoy yourself.

... I would agree with both threads here, I did my pre-test with David... Confidence will put you at ease prior to your test-date (and, if possible try and book him in the same day as your test, he may have an idea of the route your tester will take you).
