And remember as well it's not a race you have 45 minutes to do the test including the practice beforehand which you should do as it settles you down. Best of luck with it. You'll be fine |

Here's a few tips for ya generally (passed myself on Saturday 39/40)
1. Do the Book/CD until you're blue in the face from it. The numberic questions in particular, you can't deduce the asnswers on these ones, unlike a few others. 2. Arrive at the test centre early, you don't need to be milling about at the last moment. Bring ID. 3. The test has an option for a practice run that isn't part of the exam time. (You can take 15 minutes for the exam practice). Use this practice bit to get used to the general layout of the test. It will explain how to do the test, aswell as things like how to flag a question that you want to look at again before you finish, and how to review all your answers. 4. The test is 45 minutes in duration, and has 40 questions (all multiple choice), of which you need to get 35 right. There is LOADS of time to get this done in 45 minutes, so take your time, and focus on each question. Read it, then re-read it, to make sure you know exactly what it's asking. 5. Some questions require more than one answer, make sure you note how many answers are required while reading the question. 6. Alot of questions can be answered by eliminating options that are definately NOT right. Example: "What should you do in heavy rain to improve visibility?" Answer B is "Speed up and pour some black paint on your visor". Most questions will have one or two completely incorrect answers. Use this to your advantage. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees, and cutting down the answer options to 2 or 3 makes things clearer. 7. The test is attempting to determine if you are the safe, careful type (which of course you are). In trying to decide between one of two answers, ask the question " Which answer makes me look more cautious and safe?". 8. If you see a question that you can't answer, just flag it (there will be a button at the bottom of the screen to do this), and move on to the next question - don't get hung up on it. You can go back to it once you've answered all the others. 9. Once you answer all 40 questions, review them all, just to be sure. If you flagged any questions, now is the time to go back over them. 10. Keep an eye on the time, but don't let it fluster you. If it takes 30 minutes to get through the 40 questions the first time round, that still gives you 15 for a review of your answers, and to look at any questions you flagged. 11. Answer all 40 questions. A guess has a 75% of being wrong, while an unanswered one has a 100% chance. 12. Little girls do this test all the time and pass it. Put in the preparation beforehand, take your time and focus during, and do us proud. :) |
