Default routing rear brake pipe through swing arm

Hi
I have an RVF400 and have seen the rear brake pipe routed through the swing arm. I have a damaged swing arm and old brake pipe, and have used these to test this.
The problems I have are.
1 Should I put a weld around where I drill the swing arm to prevent it from cracking.
2 Will this weaken the swing arm and make the bike un usable.
3 I need to get a brake cable made locally(Cork) because pipe will be routed through the swingarm and its a one off

you need to get a tube made of aluminium that the hose fits through ,then drill out the swingarm to the outer width of the tube, push tube through the hole and weld on both sides all the way around the outer diameter of the tube. done properly it will be as strong as standard.
lot of hassle though

at the very least a hole should be strenghtened by pushing in a slice of tube at each hole and welding around it. yer mans swingarm structural integrity is comprimised.

I just drilled a hole big enough for a braided line to go through and put on the banjo fittings later.

Any hole drilled and unstrenghtened still looks like a recipe for one helluva "oh shit" moment man
