Confirmed road race dates for 2013
 

The dates for the 2013 Irish road racing season have been finalised at the MCUI Inter Centre Conference.

The Kells meeting, which failed to run this year, has been pencilled in for July 20-21, with the Athea and Munster road races - also absent from the calendar in 2012 - scheduled for August.

2013 Irish Road Racing dates

APRIL

26-27 - Cookstown 100

MAY

3-4 - Tandragee 100

14,16, 18 - North West 200

JUNE

28-29 - Bush Road Races

JULY

5-6 - Skerries Road Races

13-14 - Walderstown Road Races

20-21 - Kells Road Races

26-27 - Armoy Road Races

AUGUST

2-3 - Mid Antrim 150

14, 15, 17 - Dundrod 150/Ulster Grand Prix

24-25 - Munster Road Races

SEPTEMBER

7-8 - Killalane Road Races

And before it all starts, support your local road racing club as best you can - without support they can't run the races that we all enjoy :thumbsup2:

Anyone hear anything about the Cork races?? One of the lads was telling me earlier tonight that there could be a race using the old glanmire - watergrasshill route (track to be in a triangular shape).

Am i going blind or is Athea not listed there even though its mentioned for August? Is there even a provisional date for it?

Any chance of a map of that?
Funds will be the major problem with this running (i hope it does) .AFAIK it will cost the best part of €90-100,000 to run a road race.Where is a club going to get this kind of money these days?:down:

Don't have details myself but one of the lads was talking of it.was wondering if anyone has heard anything of the likes.would be the job IF it was a goer and went ahead. Apparently it would replace the dunmanway race for next yr at least.
Best to keep an eye out at the bike show in the springs in Feb,definitely would details there then if it is a goer

The Cork Races which will be run by the Cork Motorcycle Racing & Vintage Club have a date penciled in for the 15/16 June. The August date was clashing with the Manx which would reduce entries a lot. It is a new 2.9 mile track ideally located just off the Cork Dublin Motorway next to Glanmire near Cork City. It is a fast flowing triangular circuit part of which is on the Old Cork Dublin Road. One section need to be re-surfaced which is going to be done in April with the full support from the Council - when thats done it will be a fabulous track. Full details will be known on Jan 2013.

I saw that date on website today glanmire / watergrasshill cork cant find it back Athea was also on the list but it was Athea/ Cahir
I was chatting to MCUI medical team last year in hotel before walderstown and they were telling me Cahir was a strong possiblity as yer man behind Athea was now in Cahir and has the drive behind him to get the cancelled road race from athea to cahir . I dont mind where it is but hope they all go ahead Walderstown and killalane were great last year. Mondello is good too but i like standing on ditches watching those mad knuts

roll on the NW200.In 2013 we need dry roads and races to be run or the clubs will have no funds.
