Difference between pilot power and pilot power 2ct

Need new tyres for the 690 and seeing as cotters are doing a special on michelins this month, ive narrowed it down to these two. Anyone have any experience of the 2 of these? 2ct's are an extra 50 euro a set? Are they worth it?:unsure2::wassat:

The 2CT are made from 2 compounds. They have a harder compound in the centre and softer on the edges... yes they're worth it. (in my opinion)

Re: Difference between pilot power and pilot power 2ct

they have the 2ct compound on the side and a harder in the middle they claim to be getting 8000+ off the rears, and 10,000+ off the fronts and deadly in rain

Yup - about 5k to a rear on the TLS, about 8k to a front.

I've worked through about 3 pairs of them to date - great tyre! :thumbsup2:

I wouldn't bother with 2ct having had both. Centre is the same, side is softer on 2ct. For the road there is no noticeable difference. Have the standard ones on 950 now as wasn't arsed paying the extra

Re: Difference between pilot power and pilot power 2ct

8000 miles :rolleyes2: maybe on something light like an SV650. I get about 4K out of mine on the Rex. Going to put a set on the KTM, luckily I have a tire changer so I don't have to worry about a dealer scratching the rims, I can do that all by myself :lbhbh:,
I like them :thumbsup2:

I've got the power pures on mine already got more miles than I've ever seen from a bridgestone and there's loads left plus grip is good but take a bit to warm up, even then tho I can get the rear to spin but you feel in control

2CT's are good but a little over 3k miles to a rear at best, probably quite variable over different bikes / riding styles tho :thumbsup2:

2CT's are a great tyre but only good for 2000 miles at best:thumbsup2:

I recall putting new tyres on, finding the rear gone in 2500 miles. I have 5k miles on my rear at the moment, looks like another 4k miles on it and I dont know what was done on it when I got it. But I like the idea of softer compound on the sidewalls, good for confidence if nothing else. A bit like safety belts and helmets, a must have but hope we never need it.

Re: Difference between pilot power and pilot power 2ct

I was actually thinking about getting a set of Pilot Power 2ct's myself.

The Metzler Sportec M3's that were on the bike when I got it are fairly good in the dry; no complaints at all - but in the wet they're not fantastic.

I had some Pirelli Angel ST's on the Monster when I had it; and thought they suited me grand. I'm between two minds now on what to go for. (For purely street use.)

Has anyone tried the Pilot Power 2CT's versus some Pirelli Angels? (Wet & Dry?)

Also - how long is that Cotters deal for?

My prefered tyre was the pirelli rosso's but went with the pilots to save the few quid.. Michelin offer over end of the month..

Tried the rosso corsas and they were brill, had the rosso II's on the zx6 and again a brill tire, just couldnt leave the michelins there at that price and fitted and all to save me the hassle:thumbsup2:

Good reviews too
