They may not even entertain your inquiry
I read about them having stupidly strict import rules.
Sell her and drink the funds when you get there :thumbsup2:

Are farming machinery not exempt?

As said the Aussies are very particular as to what they'll let into their country.
Weigh up the shipping costs/import costs and any possible extra charges, add that to the value of your bike ( proper value in the current climate, not a donedeal dream value) and then compare that to what a similar, or even slightly older bike will cost you in Oz.
I'd nearly put money that for the hassle involved it'd be easier to just sell up and buy over there.

How clean is the inside of the fairing, the underside of the mudguard, down the hole of the exhaust:unsure2:

You need it to be spotless everywhere, as in clean enough to bring into an operating theatre to get past aussie border.

The aussies don't like people bringing in vehicles, they even give MotoGP teams shit about getting bikes in for Phillip Island AFAIK

Can't bring a bike over on a WHV..... you need to be on a long term business or residency visa!

Waste of money and too much hassle....... dont bother your hole!

If you're going for a year see if you can flog it to a mate, at least then you'll have some chance of getting it back.

bringing it over there is not really an option, have a chat with the embassy (01 664 5300) they'll tell you the same as everyone else here is :thumbsup2:

So, having paid his buddy a few bob to crate it, and having paid the shipping fees, that pic would have been taken just after the part where, "After much wallet lightening thanks to VIC taxes & fees my crates were released from Customs."

But before the bit that goes, " Now to get the bastard Registered (It will be painful/expensive – that I’m sure of)"
Christ, he hardly saved money. By the time he got it over there and reg'd, local K6 prices had probably dropped a grand or so:lbhbh:

I've imported stuff to Ireland before and I always try and ignore the "other charges", and pray that I dont get stung with every "worst case scenario charge".
It's only when I add it all up at the end, and be honest with myself, that it starts looking pricier than I thought.
The drawn out process gives you the chance to pay these things at different intervals, as they come up, but all-in, you'd probably be better off taking the loss on your's and buying something over there

Re: Bringing bike to Oz!!

Once again you cannot import to Oz if your on a Working holiday Visa.......

You must meet the following

Criteria, citizenship and visa requirements
Applicants must fall into one of the following categories. You must:
• have applied to become an Australian citizen; or
• be an Australian permanent resident (eg, hold a permanent visa); or
• have applied to become an Australian permanent resident (eg, applied for a permanent visa); or
• hold a visa that allows you to apply to become an Australian permanent resident (eg, hold a temporary visa that allows you to apply for a permanent visa)

In addition, applicants must intend to change their residence. Applicants must have been resident in a foreign country (throughout the qualifying period of 12 months’ ownership and use of the vehicle) but now intend to become Australian residents on a permanent basis and remain in Australia indefinitely.

Leave it here or sell it.....

Sound lad, is there such a big difference in the price of a similar bike there that'd warrant the hassle?
Bit of a pisser alright
