Problem with aftermarket indicators

Im fitting some new r and g indicators to the bike. Problem is that they only flash once when you put the indicator switch on and then don't flash again. I've tried wiring them the other way around and they don't work at all then somy connection is going the right way and I have a good connection, any ideas?

It's hardly a case of the bike ecu looking for a certain resistance when you flick the switch??

Many I have seen require an inline resistor as you have stated..

isn't that usually required to slow down the flashing rate? or maybe that is just for 'old' bikes (those without computers)

I had the same thing happen when I went replacing the idiot lights in the dash on an old xr650 - all worked fine except for the indicator one, which would only flash the once.

Compare the wattage of your old bulbs to your new ones. New ones probably are a higher wattage and your flasher relay prob isn't compatible.

As the lads said above, most likely you're in need of an in line resistor. This will be specially true on modern bikes with canbus / ECU controlled modules.

Being an R&G I'm pretty sure that you can find specific info on their website.

EDIT: You'll need something like this, note that they're bike specific: https://www.rg-racing.com/browseType/Tail_Tidies/Honda/CB1300/RGR0002.aspx

Thanks lads , got it working. They only work correctly when the bike is running, I was doing it with only the key turned

Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki.... Are all using can bus now, others too.

OP I would say the can bus is not liking your indos
