Insurance Quote Question

Quick question lads. Got quoted 380 from Carole Nash on my '92 750 Honda Nighthawk. Is this the normal quoted value or is there any other recommendations for a cheaper quote. Online quote from Liberty was 750. How that company is still in business is beyond me.

Thanks in advance

Re: Insurance Quote Question

This is the same as last year's quote and I'm only back on the bike and have now 1 years no claims bonus. Their original quote was €430 but they reduced it after I rang up about the increase.

Let us know how you get on...their policy includes free legal cover, proving useful! (don't ask!)

With only 1 years ncb that is not a bad quote really.

That's a ridiculous price. Mine costs less than €200 for 3 bikes.

Who was that with? I had 5 years ncb before I was off the road for 3 years so it's hard to tell if it's really that bad.

The Carole Nash policy would be a classic policy.
I'm not sure if Liberty do classic insurance.
Let us know what Principal quote you?

No-claims discount is typically around 10% per year with full discount at five years.
You should be paying around half the original premium after five years
of claim-free riding.

It is unfortunate that you let your NCD expire. Most insurers will only give
a discount for policies that expired less than two years ago. I think MCE are the
only exception: http://www.biker.ie/forum/showthread.php?p=3519577

MCE intend to withdraw from the Irish market, although their web site
is still active: https://www.mceinsurance.com/ireland/

It's with Principal... but I was taking the piss a bit.
Nobody knows whether or not your quote is good or bad, because nobody knows your age, where you live, whether you have points or previous claims against you, whether the bike is garaged, alarmed... etc.

Phone around the insurance companies and see who is best.

They're the only ones who'd quote me on an R6, so you can blame me :lbhbh:

That may have been who I was with previously with my R6 before I had to sell it.

Principal now offer an extra on the policy to cover your gear and some other stuff for €50 on top of your regular premium.
My renewal was 299 with this add on.
