You don't have to pay anything to import from the UK to the North. You can freely move vehicles between the two islands so long as you notify the DVLA of any change of circumstances.

If it's Northern Ireland and it's a UK registered bike, then it shouldn't cost anything, If you're taking the bike from the South to the North, you should be able to get more info on the DVLNI website :-

I assume it has been VRT'd and is now on Southern plates?? If so its no bother to reregister it back in the North, there is a small paperwork fee, but nothin major.

My brother brought a cage thru and paid €3k VRT, then sold it to a lad from Belfast and he paid £100 to re-reg it in the North again!!!

asked the same question from Phillip McCallen few weeks back and they said would require type approval etc. and they never take bikes from South as trade-ins for that reason. claimed out of UK to IRL easy but back very tricky.... don't know whether true it or not - seems unusual what with EU and all that.

Yeah but the Brits/Occupiers have the MOT so takin a bike from the land of freedom means it wont have any MOT so be a risk for them
