All, I should've posted this a few days ago - there are three of us heading up to Athboy on Saturday morning to race some minimotos for the day. It's actually a race meet (see Street Fighter Racing (To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater.)) but they supply rental bikes for eejits like us to rent out for the day. Cost for the days racing is £45STG and consists of 2 warmup sessions that morning of about 10 minutes each and then 4 full races later that day. We'll be going out at the back of the grid in the "Heavies" class. Anyway, there are 2 bikes spare at the moment so if anyone would like to head along give me a shout and I'll try and book a bike for you. Otherwise mail the chap (Jonathan) at Streetfighter racing directly - his email is on the website. Sign on is at 9am on Saturday.

In all fairness, all I said after the first race was that my chain had come off and that I was poxed - THEN you feckin jinxed me by calling me 'Gibbers'!!! Bastardo!
:) First race me chain comes off, second race I finish a good second place, third race me feckin chain breaks, and fourth race I run out of petrol on the second last lap!!! Now, if that ain't Gibbers all over I dunno what is!! I'm going off to Peter Marks now to get blonde hair extensions and basically act like a nancy boy for the rest of the week.
Rob, you truly were The Doctor of minimoto racing, what with your spindley flexible legs and skinny arse, you were completely in your element - untouchable out there... que Golf Clap... :worthy: :notworthy: :gunsmilie:

[b]I'll be the one with a bottle of nos tied to my back
...and I'll be the one with the prosthetic 6" legs. There's a reason you know why footballers don't race mini motos... After the first couple of practice sessions it was actually impossible to get straight off the bike - you had to wait a few minutes until the blood started to flow again
As far as I know, if there's enough people interested, the crowd that rent out the bikes will come down from the north for the day and run an event. I'm sure it would be possible to rent out the track at Athboy for a day or something. If it was between at least 20 of us the whole thing would be pretty cheap.

Actually looking at those clips made me realise just how much fun the day must have been. A biker.ie mini-moto day out could be good craic alright. Admin might have the tshirts by then.

Actually, one regret I have from Sunday is not getting a pic of Nicks helmet after his first off... he had a huge tyre mark across the front of his visor where the bike bounced up and the back tyre hit his lid - it was gas looking!

Sounds like a good run from Donegal :)
If yous are organising a minimoto day I'd be interested in going.
I went karting in Castlefin here in Donegal a few weeks ago. It was my first time karting in a few years since I was in Germany. It showed me how seriously unfit and out of shape I am :(
I used to do endurance races, over 24 - 28 hours as part of a team of clousters. I barely managed the 15 laps
