Well Lads, Great run last week, So this week we are keeping it Northside and the destination is Carlingford, We did this Run back in July and it was a great day.

Weather forecast looks good:

3 Day Outlook

Friday night will be dry with clear spells and light winds. It will be cool, with a touch of ground frost in places. Saturday will be a dry day with sunny spells in many areas, though parts of the north and northwest will be cloudy. Winda will be light and variable and temperatures will reach the mid to high teens. Sunday will be mostly dry, though a few light showers are possible. It will be mild with little or no wind. It will become breezy on Monday as freshening west to southwest winds develop. Though many areas will be dry, some showers are likely to affect the west and north.

This is the route we took in July, But its open to suggestion:

To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater.

we will use the same format as last week, it seemed to work well, everyone at their own pace and designated stops along the way to re-group and make sure everyone is OK :thumbsup2:

Meeting point at the Coachmans Inn, Swords Road,

12.00pm for a 12.30 departure.

Stop off points for re-grouping and refreshments to be discussed on the day

All welcome, Hope to see 40+ again this week :thumbsup2:

And on a more serious note....!

I posted this on another thread, but having checked the map for your run, think it needs to go here too.

The Dublin road into Drogheda is in an awful state at the moment, there's a new shopping centre being built and lots of mayhem in the area. For those who know the place, it's the area between the old Europa Hotel and Deepforde.

The stretch of road just past the old Europa Hotel is a nightmare - lots and lots of cones, a diversion to the left, with an immediate t-junction and a right turn to get back onto the Dublin road (onto the first roundabout). The second roundabout is horrid - very poor road surface, bumps, what looks and feels like a pavement edge on the road, (could upend many an unsuspecting biker), and gravel everywhere.

It changes by the day too, so what was a limited roundabout (i.e. only one or two exits open) today, could be a full roundabout tomorrow - so traffic coming from all sides!

And the roadsigns aren't too clear either (being the same colour as the cones - duh!), so there are lots of confused cagers to add to the mix as well!

Take extra care going through that section of road lads and lasses!

Yes, it would if ye took the same route as last week - Julianstown/Laytown/Bettystown/Mornington & into Drogheda. Turn left at St Mary's Bridge junction (i.e. don't go over the bridge), then turn right and continue straight towards the north side of the town.

It would add a few miles (or kilometres!) to an already long run though which might not suit everyone (depending on how many hours the permission slip granted!!! :biggrin_old:)

Lads you'd be better off going through Laytown & Bettystown to drogheda as one of the lads said the Dublin road is in shite. Drogheda to Dunleer is a good bit of road then on to Dundalk from there you don't have to go near Blackrock at all.:thumbsup2:

Might be able to join up with yiz in Drogheda, this would be my 1st spin with Biker.ie & don't worry i'm not slow.

Could be avoided by goin through Laytown & Bettystown I think.

Correct you can miss this mess by going through Bettystown square, past the glof club, 1.5 hard left hander past a texco & centra shop, hang to the right and follow the coast road road into Drogheda about 4 miles. You will come in beside the new shopping centre, Sotch Hall.

Was up that way yesterday the road is in a nightmare, signs are crap, cages every direction, building equipment & cones everywhere, stay clear.

Cant make it this weekend but have a blast. Take some good pics.

where do you suggest we go then? , i admit id like to do it, but not on a day trip, we'd still need to get back to dublin, were already pushing the boat out (pardon the pun) with Carlingford, but its getting so close to the cold weather that id like to do another long one before it gets too cold and icy.

Might do something like that next year for an overnighter.

No man i like the suggestion, its just these candy asses couldnt spend that long in the saddle without their nicotine breaks, i only stop to take on fuel and to expell waste, look at my previous post , did that yesterday, and then theres the legal issue, lots of them cant get their full licence so were stuck, i love to go north, not as worried about getting stopped and getting more points on licence

I was thinking about coming on the run with yis on sunday but the guilt is creeping in now. What do yis think i should do?

Go on the spin, tell the young lad to harden the fuck up & stop watchin cages....watch bike racin instead!!:bikerie::lbhbh:

Father and son watching cages getting pummeled and wrecked, sounds like a worthy reason to blow off a bike ride to me. Only wish it happened more often, definately too many cages on the road, get rid and make room for the 2 wheels.
Thats what i say, good on ya Fluffy.

I really don't know whether to turn and have fun or to turn up and point and laugh at one or two of you. Winter riding is the grand. Carlingford is a decent spin but it's not that far ffs it's not even cold yet. In fact it never gets cold here. We can ride all year.

Latest from Met Eireann:

Looks good for tomorrow :thumbsup2:

Today

Dry in most areas for the rest of today, with some sunshine. However, cloud will continue to increase from the north and northwest, with patchy rain and drizzle moving down over many parts of Ulster and Connacht during the afternoon and evening. Winds light to moderate, mainly southwest in direction. Maximum temperatures 15 to 18 Celsius.

Tonight

Tonight, rain and drizzle will extend gradually southwards, followed by clearer and colder weather in Ulster, Connacht and parts of north Leinster by morning. Winds will be very slack and mist and fog will develop in many areas. Lowest temperatures 2 to 9 degrees, coldest in the north and northwest.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning will be cloudy and dull over much of the southern half of the country, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle and possibly the odd heavier burst. However, it will gradually die out during the day, with some bright spells developing. The northern half of the country will be brighter, with sunny spells and just a few scattered showers. Cool, with maximum temperatures of 13 to 16 or 17 Celsius. Light north to northwest or variable winds.

Saw a cock in a BMW do the funniest thing on me way home.
At the M1 roundybout waiting to get on the M50 a Garda jeep head of the traffic as we pull off. Speed limit is 60kph so me and 2 cages(1 the BM) tuck in behind the fuzz in the slow lane. The jeep overtakes a car and the BM follows him, both doing about 70. Here's where it gets funny. The fuzz pulls back into the slow lane still doing about 70 but the clown in the BM stays in the fast lane and proceeds to go past the fuzz at about 85:woots::woots::lbhbh: Needless to say he got the blues and I got a laugh:thumbsup2:

Deadly run peeps. Big thenks to the front runners for the pace:thumbsup2: I had a blast all the way up and back. The 2 boys I was following down the M1; a ZZR and a Aprilla- :thumbsup2::thumbsup2::thumbsup2::thumbsup2::thumbsup2: Nice bikes lads

Anyway we need to call a commmitte meeting To start i put forward a motion that anyone travelling up and beyond the legal speed limit, does so on the hoolie run. This measure should be put in place in order to avoid any unwanted attention from the fuzz.

Secondly that ice-cream looks sub-standard, i think Mr. Whippy should recieve a strongly worded solicitors letter to ensure this poor quality confectionary can never appear on a sunday run again:lbhbh: How much was it?
