Went up there today, pretty much the same as the rds but smaller. I ended up spending all my money at the Hein Gericke shop instead. It was worth the trip just to see the new zx10 though. Gorgeous bike.

is the stuff dear up there any deals on helmets????

2nd February 2008, 07:47 PM
Shoei XR1000 for £250 was a pretty god deal for helmet. Arai also had good deals.
The show was very small, to be hones not that impressed. Hein Gerrich sales is still on with big reguctions. Probabably better value there.

I'll probably be heading up in the c*ge today with camera and number one child in tow.
Called in after work early on Friday but it hadn't really kicked off yet and it was a pain in the arse lugging all my bike gear about with me. Still feel sweaty thinking about it, or was that the Ducati girls?

Brought the wife and kids up yesterday (Sat) and enjoyed it. Kids got a poster each and stickers on the Ducati stand which made their day. This kind of advertising worked as my 5 year old daughter made me buy her a Ducati jacket on the Clinton Enterprises stand. :rolleyes2:

We got some sweets on the biker doctors stand so all were happy.

Just back from there myself, was a good show with some interesting things to see. Didn't meet any of the lads from on here except at the petrol station in dundalk (sorry had to go, stupid cage was holding up traffic at the pump), but couple of lads from Kells were there. Still, got a new Arai Viper GT lid and a set of leathers (in HG on the way back). Not much selection there in terms of a two piece, and even then it was all takano stuff.

Arais startin at £199, the Vipers were £299 - £399. £350 for my one. Got a second clear visor with it and the pinlock inserts too, and had it fitted with bigger cheek pads and a riser. Coulda got a Chaser for a bit less or a Corsair for a bit more. Discounts weren't really that good but wanted another lid, and liked this one.

I made sure to check the date before parting with the cash. Manufactured end of '06, so it's just over a year old. Yeah heard good things about the vipers being very comfy and reasonably quiet, otherwise would have gone with the RX7. Nice to get it professionally fitted too. Tried it on with 3 sizes of cheek pad and various size risers till it was perfect. Was going to get another shoei xr1000, they were going in any paintjob ya like for £250, but the arai fit sooo much better.

Met a few from here too and last nights session in the hotel was great craic, especially as we were joind by some of the best road racers.

Mike Hailwood's son Dave was displaying some of his famous Dad's bikes. Dave also joined us at the session, a sound lad althogether:thumbsup2:

Don't talk to me, last night with the gales and all we had a power cut for about 45 secs or so resulting with the internet going belly up. Only just back on this evening so I was unable to arrange meet ups with you lot.

Got a hold of Marty LCI and the daughter and spent pleasant day with them.

Only took a few photos of the classic collection as all the rest of the newer models featured in NEC photos, plus a shot of Marty LCI's daughter, Aoife, on a Yamaha Giggley thing?????

hi all here are a few pics of a bike dedicated to the memory of road racers killed, it looked class, all i had with me was my phone so the photo's don't do the bike justice

went up on the bike yesterday, bit windy on the way up, pissed rain all the way home, there was a serious change in the temperature from newry home, a lot colder.

enjoyed the show, though small, the new blade is still ugly in the flesh, the 2006/2007 model is way ahead on looks, i sat up on it and wont be buying one, too old/unfit for the contorsionist riding position, the r1 and gixxer 600 look class, not a fan of the zx10 or the pipe on z1000/z750
the new busa feels comfy as does the triumph 1050 sprint

a few nice classics out the back, RD 400 / RD 350, the RC 30 was a peach
