For any of you thinking of bringing a bike in from the UK the following sites are a pretty good starting point - I'm sure most of you are well aware of them anyway:

MCN and Visordown would be my preferences - very good altogether and Visordown is very popular - also a good place to buy race/track machines too.
Findit is handy for fairings and stuff, as is Cheshire breakers.

When you're searching use the Holyhead postcode if you have the option.

LL67 0HU

At least you know how far you've to travel once you get off the ferry.

If anyone needs any help or advice bringing a bike in from the UK I'd be happy to help.

I think they also do a sweep of insurance claims etc for the reg too...

Too right though Worded, if you're buying a bike abroad (and here) make sure it has a HPI cert with it - you can even offer to pay for the service if the seller is unwilling to get it, but it's definitely within his/her interest to get it.

Definitely worth a check even for the more simple things. Only last week, a friend had put a deposit on a car to a private buyer. When he did the HP check he was told the last mileage recorded on the car was 77,000. The chancer schmuck was selling it with 42,000 thereby making an extra £6-800!!!

Just because it is a digital odometer, doesn't mean it is right. It takes 10seconds to wipe it and put in whatever mileage you want. You have been warned! :(

After a recent need for a bolt repair I can highly recommend the following gent for any metal work you need. He'll do bolts, brackets, repairs etc in any metal. The shop is one of the last of the old type, his newest machine is 60 years old. It's in a small brick shed in the old Tivoli centre off Richmond rd (beside Tolka Park), D3. The company is called Trio Precision Engineering, but it's just the one man running all the machines. His name is Ken and he's exrtremely helpful (and cheap!), can be contacted on (01)8371481.
