thats the road alright.

Pity i'm away at a f*&@ing stag tomorrow. Hope to be back for the last few races sunday though.

It normally finishes at 16:00 - 16:30 though so come early.

Best spot is at the end of the main straight just before the left hander - you wanna see finnegan there last year - Vale Rossi eat yer heart out

Had a spin around the track and its after getting very bumpy too :o

seems, bino is featured quite heavily in one of those movies... :D

I'm not sure what happened with that accident, during a warm up and he just went straight ahead over the ditch, probably some mechanical fault (siezed?) I guess..

I wouldn't say featured heavily but if you look real close and just freeze it at the right millisecond you can see my leathers
Apparently I was directly across the road from Admin for a good hour or so and never even realised

I've heard different things about the accident. One that something fell off the bike and there was nothing the rider could do but throw himself off it and slide into the ditch as opposed to hitting the bank with the bike. Also that after the bike went out of control a spectator had to jump off the bank to avoid being hit by the bike, landed awkwardly and had to be taken to hospital as well. Hence the reason for the two ambulances :o

wouldn't say he was too badly injured as he couldn't have been going all that fast during warm up, unlike these Galway dudes who apparently (these stories get legs after a while so it could all be lies) hopped off each other at 150 around this sweeping right hander on the bypass.

that corner can catch you out even on 4-wheels at over 100mph because of strong crosswinds.
or so im told :hypocrite:

Those bikes weren't long ripping up the tarmac around that course, some of the later 10lap sessions had to be cut short to 6 because of it :o

did you go to the wet tee-shirt comp. at moate afterwards ? ^_^

Whether they bumped each other or not, their bikes are fucked, that's all I'd be worried about. Well that and the guards on their way down to have a 'chat' with them

The heat didn't help either. The sun was literally melting the tar as ell, enabling all the stones to be ripped up, dangerous stuff.

There was a wet t-shirt contest :o Crap, why didn't anyone tell me this beforehand ! Did the missus take part

managed to make it back from galway to catch the last 5 races - some mental drivin had to be undertaken!!

From the races i saw it was an excellent day again, judging by the pics - you were only a few feet away from me admin!!

Didn't hear the full story on the classic race warm up crash yet.

That was a nice smash on the dual cabbageway, was anyone hurt? Passed that way about 2:30 and there was no evidence of a spill.

Anyone going to Kells?

JW,

Looks like there is a set of loose blade forks in the picture above...

Bus got back to Athlone at 8, so i met them for a few pints after!! Great life
