Well buckos.
The Tribes MCC are having their mid summer spin this Sat 9-Jul. Kicking off at 11.30am with a breakfast spread in the Blackthorn in Gort.
Leaving then for Inagh, Co. Clare, then on to Portumna, Loughrea and back to Gort for a BBQ and a few/many scoops in Rory's bar (O' Connors). Hostel accomodation will be provided on the night if required.
This is a lovely spin (c.160 miles) with some amazing scenery and roads.
Hopefully the weather will hold up. All are most welcome.

Not too sure of the route other than what I've posted above. We won't be leaving Gort until 12.30 sharp so you've plenty of time to get there. Won't cost you anything other than a €5 (subsidised by the club) for the breakfast if you want it.
Twould be nice to see that Hornet in the flesh...... Where will you be travelling from ?
I'll be on a Bandit 6, possibly with the GF (shes very much a fair weather biker) so the poor bike will be suffering...... :o

Last piss up organised by the club was the annual rally in May last. About 400 turned up for that....
Weather depending there could be 40 or 140 at this one, don't really know.
There's a hostel near the hotel that will put ya up. Tis probably full of Brazilians mind you as Gort is overrun with them.....
Will cook a special breakfast just for you Bren if ya want..... :w00t: :cowboy:

Had a great ride out with the "Tribes". Thanks to Big H for making me feel welcome. Weather was fantastic and the riding was FAST - even though we did get pulled by the Gardai and told to slow down (not that we did).. Nice to put faces to a few lads off here and now they know who I am too. I will certainly be going on the next run if it is anything like today. Left the lads in Gort at the bbq.
All I can say is that I met some nice people there and they all made me feel welcome.
Cheers for a great day out and let me know when the next one is.

Aye. Great day it was. Weather was fantastic and the riding was "spirited" at times all right. Some fantastic roads especially the first leg along the coast road to Inagh.
Good to meet ya Hooligan and all the lads agreed that it must be one of the nicest Hornets you have there in the country. Not afraid to rack up the miles or drive it on either unlike some fellas with so called "show bikes". Forgot to pop in the earplugs for one of the legs and was stuck behind you for most of it. Won't do that again in a hurry - those twin pipes are bloody loud. :o
Big mention to the Blade killing Spoonman down from Kildare for the run on the VFR 4. Good to put a face to the name. Get rid of that numbnut exhaust system and replace with an original & nice can and that will be a really lovely bike.
After the first leg he goes up to the fella on a '96 Blade and says "would you ever mind moving over for me on the twisty bits. Thanks !!!" Respect. :shades:
Will let you's know of the next run.

blade? what blade??... :whistling: :blush2:
t'was a legend day!!
nice one for posting it up big H.
weather couldn't have been better and there are some fooking fun-tastic roads down there.
the bit that sticks out in my mind more than anything was early on on the coast road, i was near the back of the pack finding my pace as we were coming over a hill. after the hill there was about a mile long straight stretch with the sea on the right and the sun coming in over it and on the stretch was this 3/4mile long line of bikes!! what a sight!
should prob also mention rory who owns o'connors pub and put on the bbq and gave us somewhere to drink 'till silly hours of the morning. sound man! :worthy:
and hooligan's hornet really is a work of art! really nice job and sounds sweet, you'll have to take some pics of it and post it up for the rest of the lads to see.
don't worry H, that pipe is coming off as soon as i can possibly get my hands on anything else, hopefully this ART can deal will work out, i should know next week.

Rory is a sound skin alright. For a little fella Spoonman, you had no problem polishing off about 17 burgers...... :w00t:
