Hmm...there's a term for that. :icon2:

We used to recognise MAG members but the discount was applied on a slightly inflated original premium so it all balanced out in the end.

Recent substantial VRT Reduction obtained on new motorcycles ? Discounts at a number of quality bike shops ? Campaigns for the use buslanes, and much much more.

Remember its all voluntary, if you think you can help or improve things just attend our next meeting and put your points forward instead of knocking everything :mad2:

What VRT reduction is this? I've brought 20 bikes in from the UK and had to pay a fortune in VRT. I think MAG membership is required if you have a CN insurance policy and i've got a CN policy.. :shades: .

Tend to agree with Frany... There are some preaching stereotypes :sleep1: @ MAG but on the whole they are one of the very few who will actually stand up for Irish motorcyclist! (if not the only organised group in the RoI)
There is some very good detail available on their website - especially for those who are new to motorcycling.
Anyone who gives up their free time for the good of many others is cool in my book

I get a discount from Carole Nash? That's some incentive, considering they want [b]double the premium I'm paying with AXA for my current bike.

What reduction in VRT is this? I haven't noticed bike prices plummeting recently.

Discounts in shops that are already ripping us off with crazy prices?

So it's legal for motorcyclists to use buslanes now?

Just some questions...not knocking.

i guess the guys askin who mag are probly never heard of type approval (scary shit ) or leg protectors either.the reason the didd`nt hear of those things is MAG.
ive been following the story since the first mag years here (and ibag before that, anyone else remember back then) and they have stopped a lot of bulshit and unessacery laws coming into force.there is a few annoying dogooders involved but the main core is down to earth bikers watchin our backs.

In all fairness, I have to agree that it is good to have MAG. As Bink said they're the only group that actually look out for bikers in Ireland, which in my books is certainly not a bad thing!
I couldn't even get quoted on insurance from anybody else so the discount on insurance was an added bonus for me as well.
But as Termignator said, I don't avail of the MAG discount in shops because I mainly buy from abroad because of the price.
And as for driving in bus lanes, we all do that anyway :P

Cant see stopping Type Approval as a victory, this happens anyway for all european bikes sold through dealers and is inforce in the UK for private imports.
